Pink Elephants - Something Old, Something New

Hi ya!  Long time no see!  My current rl work situation allows me to have more time and less money...funny how that works.  Anyway, I'm doing the MegaStuff Hunt and pulled together a little something old and something new for this post.
My inspiration was the gift that .:KnocKerRs:. had for the MegaStuff Hunt I pulled together some "old" things I had in my inventory -  because I've also been digging through my inventory of SO many things I rarely wear  -  to put this look together.  (Bear with my editing because my hard drive crashed and I lost my CS5.) The items you won't find in-world any longer are the shoes & cuffs.  
The good news is that Kalnins is now designing for Redgrave so you can find similar shoes there, the bad news is Digit Darkes is unfortunately no longer in-world.  I miss her so much!  So get out hunting and feel free to grab me if you know of any other hunts going on...they will be in my future for awhile.  Happy Hunting!

  

Happy 6th SLBirthday to Me!

Holy cow, I can't believe it's been 6 years already.  I haven't spent as much time here in the past year as I had in previous years, but rl got very busy of course and contrary to belief, having a husband who works in i.t. doesn't always guarantee you're going to have the latest and greatest in hardware.  You see,  I had a gaming laptop that was beginning to take a sh*t, so my husband called a friend of a friend to build me a new pc for Christmas.  I was really excited.  It had a Terabite (sp) of memory or ram or whatever but it was but it was a terabite (!) and the latest and greatest in Windows and CS5 or 6 (?) and I thought it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread and that my slife was never going to be the same.  However, I had problem after problem and then after 6 months the hard drive died on me. HI...no warrantee or anything with some dbag you contract on the side. Mkay..thankfully, most of the family pics that were on that pc (that I was painstakingly organizing! were backed up on a disc)
 We also have a friend who works for a hardware company and he gifted me with a laptop that could be dropped from 8 feet and still be okay.  Well that's totally awesome but I'm still trying to figure out how I can upgrade the graphics & stuff without bugging my husband who works 50-60 hours a week fixing this stuff and doesn't want to have to do it at home.   And so this brings me to my 6th slbirthday/Happy New Year pic.  Happy New Year and holy cow my avatar is 6 years old!  :)

I also happen to be drinking champagne in rl!  Happy Freakin' New Year!

I've been fused pink!

Instead of feeling Irish green today, I went pink instead.  I did most of the Depraved Nation Pink Fusion Hunt.  One thing about this hunt is that each item is 5L and I sort of forgot that as I was making my way through it because I got that "kill it and drag it home" mentality that THIS was the hunt I was going to finish!!  I also didn't have my hunt partner today or it probably would've gotten worse but I ran on my alt as she's very neglected and poor.
I used to do hunts all the time when I was "slyounger" and I had forgotten that it was because of these that I found some of my favorite stores.  While this isn't entirely free, 5L isn't much to part with for the quality of items you get and if you want to just land at the stores you like you can check the list in the link above to see pictures of what you'll get.
The one thing I REALLY wanted to get is the one from Deer.  It's some really cool shoes that I know my alt (and my main avi) would wear a lot!  *If you know where that thing is, hit me with an i.m. and let me know because I was stumped there for quite awhile.*

Epic Conquer of Twisted Hunt!

My friend Kitana and I were hunting again!  By the way, it's so good to have a friend to go on all of the fun slhunts!!!  This time, it was the Twisted Hunt Spring 2013 Delirium.

I gotta' throw out the first disclaimer that I didn't do *all* of the spots because I'm also a participant and blah blah blah, busy blah, too lazy, blah...  However, Kitana is a diehard hunter and has to complete each hunt from start to finish!  Disclaimer number 2:  I've decided that I really need to get on my poor overlooked alt so that my main inventory stops exploding beyond recognition.  With that said, I picked up from the landmark after my store, Shape it Up!   and she and I completed each stop with a few photo ops on the way.  We got really excited at one of the locations because we both found the spinning cube at the same time.  Thus, the banana dance.  We gesturebate when we're together.  Don't judge.

We hunted until we got to the very end where you go through the abandoned hospital to toward the finish line...oooooooh veddy crrreeepy!! It was so creepy I thought I was gonna' die!







Then you're dropped into a labyrinth of cubes.

Finally, and I won't tell you how, we made it to the very last piece of the hunt!  The Final Prize room!!  All in a days' work for us.

The RMK Bunny Hunt...Nice Idea.

My friend Kitana Baxton and I did the RMK Bunny Hunt over the weekend.  It was a cute idea but sort of lost in translation.
We got  dressed in low script/low prim, theme-worthy gear to get in the spirit.
You go to the skybox landing point, and if all the signs & things don't rez due to router issues *cough* then you don't see the sign that says to walk through the frame.  And that's just the beginning.   Once you've walked through the door under Humpty Dumpty's butt on the wall you land on the actual sim--which is very cutely decorated with all things Alice in Wonderland and start to see bunnies flying all over the place and people running amuck.
So now what to do?  Check the blog...nothing.  Check blogs from people who've blogged about the hunt and try to make sense of what you're supposed to do.  Okay...so we got it.  Watch the bunny and once it sh*ts out a ticket, really quickly buy it and *take* it.  (Don't count on the multi-language blog to give you that lil tidbit.)
Once I started getting a headache watching the temp rez bunnies flying ass over teakettle,  I finally just planted myself firmly near the water as no one was there and I could easily see and just fish for them, as it were.  I start getting tickets and crash a few times due to the hundreds of scripts running and aforementioned router issues.  Finally, I finished up on Monday evening...okay there are some that I didn't get because I had had just about enough of it.  One lovely encounter with someone was that they came running over to one of the bunnies I'd been watching for what seemed like an hour & a half and when it sh*t out a ticket she grabbed it and had the nerve to i.m. me and tell me not to do this, that I was "robbing" her of a bunny.  "Really?" I said.  And gave her a short answer about how I wasn't "robbing" her of anything.  Another lovely encounter was a little girl in these "cute" little frog Uggs as she bounced happily all over the sim, following bunny after bunny and each time she bounced, her boots let out a frog noise...cute...NOT.
Maybe it was because I also got the stomach flu over the weekend but I had run out of patience.  So I went over to the ticket trading table to do a little trading of my extras.  Two asshats sat on me.  That was polite.  I asked if someone would like to trade for the extras I had and someone did trade me one of the tickets.  Fast forward to tonight, when my friend i.m's me and says that one of the people she traded with gave her a ticket that had already been redeemed.  Since I hadn't redeemed all of my tickets --because by the way, you get to hunt for the redemption places too--I checked the ticket that I had traded for and sure enough, it had been redeemed also.  So far, the gifts that I had the patience to find and redeem have been very nice, and I discovered many new-to-me places and great items to buy, so that was good.  All of the hunters though?  Meh...I think this was a great concept, but it seems that maybe there was a communication problem between the people putting it on, the hunters, and the participants.  The stores involved were all VERY nice though, and I don't mean to be ungrateful because I'm not.
Since I was having so many danged issues, this was the best picture I could get of Kitana and me...my mesh bunny head and Kitana's beautiful wig weren't rezzing for me.  GRR!

Finally, I needed to just sit and be pissed. I had a *Bunny Hunt Fail*

It's a beautiful Diva life!

Okay, first off, I sucked at keeping up with the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge.  So, I give up and will now just take pictures when I'm inspired.  Which I was with some new group gifts I received.
 
D!va gave out a 30,000 member group gift of a sweet red dress to be warn long or short along with GORGEOUS floral decoration around the neckline and you can add flowers to your hair. Plus, they gave a fatpack of hair with matching flowers which are all color change.  I'm soooooooo ready for summer and stargazer lilies are some of my favorite flowers so I haven't been able to take this off!  I also got the cute skin with teeth group gift from Al Vulo!  I just love these generous people who give so much of their digital art.  I appreciate those who can create such amazing things for our avies to wear!  I wish I was as talented.

The shape is one I'm working on which will be released in my store, Shape it Up! very soon. I found a beautiful garden for my pictures and jacked up the settings on my laptop for pictures.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge (sort of) Iron and Patina

What used to be fun is now just irritating.

I used to enjoy logging in and popping over to some fun places to dance, listen to good music or just get out of my sl home/workshop.  The last 2 times I've tp'd over to one of my rl/sl husband's favorite places, I've been accused of scoping out someone else's "man".  Really????  (I guess they could see my camera views, but really, I was trying to cam in on  SOMETHING that would actually rez on my laptop which used to render things okay but with the latest "upgrades" from Linden Labs has left me feeling like my gaming laptop is a piece of crap!)  I really and honestly do not give two shits about your "man" who is actually probably a) a woman b) a 300 pound male who couldn't get a woman in real life anyway c) not my husband so I really don't give another shit about who you're sldancing with anyway!!  My rl/sl husband is 3 feet away from me playing Everquest thankyouverymuch!
And another thing...with the last update, while I am supposedly on the mesh viewer, my mesh stuff (including furniture) either does or doesn't show up and I'm a ghost & have to rebuild myself.  What a pain in the ass!  I've been messing with this for about 2 hours!  Thank you for the enriched experience Linden Labs but I'm about to say buh-bye!
I'm considering checking out the other sites that are like sl used to be.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Indigo

This week's challenge was tough for me!  I LOOOOOOOOOVE this color but realized that I had so little in my inventory.  I knew I wanted to feature the extra gift I'd made for the last Twisted Hunt - the bird cage hat with exploding feathers.  I was calling it "blurple" because that's just the only thing I could think of for a color name.  It's now available inside my store and while not free, is still priced pretty reasonably.

Since this my freebie blog, I wanted to feature a freebie or two...makes sense, right?  I was able to find this indigo cut out swimsuit on marketplace and everything fell together.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Coral Week 2

For this week's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge  the color was coral.  I'm not a big pastel color wearer in either lives--funny how my first life carries over into my second so much.  I scoured my inventory for coral and found only one item that was coral.  Now, I know that should've triggered me to start shopping, but I wanted to push a little further.  So I searched "blush" and "peach" because those colors are somewhat close depending upon your eye (and the designer's).  I didn't find any more clothing items so I decided this would be a headshot.

Back in my "old" real life photography days, we would've said the lights are too hot, but I don't care, I kind of like the effect.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Champagne. Week 1 = disaster

Okay, so I thought I'd join in on Luna Jubilee's 52 weeks of color blogging challenge.  Since I didn't do it last year I may as well bust it out for this year.  Well, my first (late) week into it and I've already turned a fashion blog into a disaster.
You see, I pulled up all the champagne key words in my inventory and it took me to my all-time favorite designer, Digit Darkes' timeless dress, Barely in Champagne, which made me miss her all the more since she was a great friend & is no longer in-world and we keep playing phone tag.  This led me to plunk on my champagne colored wig from Exile - Samara and in my deep sorrow of missing my friend, the champagne glasses in my inventory  just weren't  enough...nooooooooooo!  I had to drown my sorrows with a champagne bottle, Asti (no less!) from  Medhue Animations (pay attention to the attractive hiccups and stumbling).
Since all good parties end in the kitchen, I felt it only appropriate to take evidence-er...pictures here.

  What was to be so fashion photo shoot turned into disaster.  Ever have one of those nights?  Yeah, I knew you had.

**I think it's the one eye with the astigmatism that always seems to squint when I get drunk.  That's the tell that I've had too much!

Feeling Filthy

Kiss me...I'm s***faced!

My rl & sl friend, Debil Skute, has been working extra hard not only on her original furniture & scripts, but she's also just recently made some fun things for St. Patty's Day!  She's got lots of festive clothing on sale for extra cheap--not free, but so cheap it's close to free!  So, she threw me a shirt & I hit Finnegan's Irish Pub, where I got s***faced!!   This shirt is unisex in green or grey.

(This is so reminiscent of Debil & my rl times!  lol!)  Anyhoo--hit her store for all of your St. Patrick's Day wear before it's too late!

I fell in love with a snake on Valentine's Day

Today, I fell in love with a snake.  I didn't want to, but it happened. 
In addition, I cheated on my laptop.  I took pictures on my husband's computer which is WAY more fired up than my laptop, and I don't think I'll ever go back!  OMG!

Let's start first with the snake with which I'm madly in love--it's a Valentine's Day gift from Pixel Mode!!!!  I'm jumping for joy because I missed the other deliveries she made of the leopard shoes but I was actually ON today and got the snakeskin shoes!!!  Oh for joy!!!!!!  I can be dead and buried in these!  *un photoshopped pictures coming up* 

I also received a lovely gift from Glam Affair-Eva for Valentine's Day!!  I'm in LOVE with their skins and just can't get enough!  

I also recieved a group gift from Emo-tions hair-*Celeste- but that's not all!  I also got cute heart eyelashes from A'vion!  I jumped into one of my stand-by designer's dresses-Digit Darkes -Barely in Mocha.  I miss Digit in sl SO much!!  I've been trying to talk her back into sl because she's so talented!! 

 Anyhoo--it's been an extremely fun Valentine's Day so far!  (I even met my husband for lunch and he's making a tremendous dinner for us of lamb, shrimp, asparagus & all kinds of good stuff--I can't wait!)  Happy Valentine's Day to you!  I hope you find love in a snake, too. :)

Not free, but I love it!!

I love my KittyCats Kitty!  I'm in love with mah kitteh!!  She sleeps so cute in her little basket!!  uh mah gawd!  And then I bought this gorgeous Cheeky Pea set from Chic Limited that includes the chair, kitty bed and lamp and table and it's just 3 kinds of great!  Low-res picture, I apologize, but Maddy was laying in her bed so cutely, I just had to snap away!! 

SHADOWS! UH-MAH-GAWD-BECKY!

Thanks to the masterful perfection of Luna Jubilee (I wish to one day be as great as she!) I jacked up the settings in my laptop (thank God for the fan!) and set to work on messing with shadows.  It's by no means great, but it's a start!

THANK YOU, LUNA!  The tutorial she posted on youtube was a great help, too!!  My poor lil lappy ran like a slug, but I intend to jump on hubby's computer Monday and mess some more!  yay!

Long time no see! I've got FREE!

Long time no see!  I've decided I need to get myself busier on this little bloggity blog, so today, I'm featuring some wonderfully free goodies and one not-so-free goodie.

The hat/hair was a great group gift last December from Truth Hawks and I hadn't taken the time to thank him and blog it.  It's a big ol' pack of all hair colors and the hat is scripted texture change so it's great for any winter-y ensemble.  Truthfully, I'm about tired of winter where I am, but it is nice to feel warm and this hair and hat do it for me. 
The coat and pants are part of a full outfit won in the midnight mania at AdN called Pure--always very generous with her midnight manias, this also comes with a cute pair of ugg boots, too. 
The shoes...oh the shoes!!  I've meant to buy these for so long and I finally did!  They graced the fashion feeds a while back, but they are still so fabulous, I had to have this pair!  Pixel Mode's Baby T's with anklet socks--I love them!  I also had to get another pair of the pumps without socks because they're so versatile.  I have to admit that BOTH times Tya has sent out the gift shoes in the subscribo, I've crashed or my gift shoes got sucked into the abyss!  CRY!!!!  I'm so jealous of the rest of you who got them--hug them for me!!  ;)

Ivey Deschanel -- You've done it again!!

So, after my post about the Exodi Hunt Ivey Deschanel (of Sn@tch fame!) passed me a notecard about her DIVE hunt. OMG! It was so much fun, and sooooo cool!!! You get a hud for your screen to just make the hunt a little more interesting. (seen below) I wish I'd have taken pictures along the way, but I met another new friend! We hammered the clues out together, and it made it much more fun! (I'll go back through & post pictures because the theme of the hunt and the story, drama, intrigue--it was FABULOUS!!!!!) It wasn't so hard that I got frustrated, but I did notice some asshat tp in at the very last spot--which, to me made them the double loser because they lost out on all of the goodies along the way!!! I shall be opening my goodies soon, and will post pics, but if you haven't done the DIVE hunt --you MUST make it a part of your Halloween fun-ness! Here's the starting point! Kudos to Ivey and her Pulse team--you made another great slmemory for me! :)

EXODI MURDER AT SKULL CREEK HUNT

Wow--it's been awhile since I've completed a hunt. Don't get me wrong, I like them, but they're all pretty much the same. Not since I did a Halloween hunt as a semi-newbie (it was the school hunt & dropped you into the Sn@tch store) have I participated in one that was this much fun! You have to collect all of the clues (65 in all) and talk to all of the "witnesses" (I don't remember how many) then you can solve the crime & go collect your goodies. There's stuff for guys & girls, and I must admit, I finally yelled out for some help & of course met some new friends, that way! (thank you, Cerrie & Giselle!) The following are just a FEW of the fun things I got at this hunt. (there was a lot--go...do!)
